The following photographs were all captured by my friend Rena Balmain-Matthews. She is an aspiring photographer with a great future ahead of her. I chose to use her photos because she has a way to capture emotion in a still. One of these emotions that I found consistently in her pictures is guilt. This is why I've chosen to use it for a villain's conscience. These photos can be interpreted literally and metaphorically so they work well to show the internal and external struggles of a guilty conscience.
... "Stained With Guilt" captures the exhausting feeling of a guilty conscience. His body looks fatigued but his eyes are wide open. His hands holding his head up show his stress...

"Try to Run" by Rena Balmain Matthews (Meg Sutherland)
..."Try to Run" isn't as obvious as the first. Her eyes look hard and focused. Almost emotionless. Conscience will make a person feel guilty if they went against what is "good". But in my opinion, the strength of a conscience varies from person to person. Since the guilt is hard to spot in this picture, it's possible that her conscience is not very strong. Holding a bag and waiting for a train, she looks like she wants to get out of there. The title tells me that she is running from something. To me, she is running from her conscience and it hasn't yet caught her which is why her face doesn't show guilt...

"CAUGHT redhanded" by Rena Balmain-Matthews (Caitlin McIntyre)
..."CAUGHT redhanded" shows a girl literally cornered against a graffitied wall. The look on her face is almost scared. It makes me wonder what's behind the camera's view. Metaphorically speaking, and in response to the previous photo, this is at the point when her conscience has caught her and she's frightened of the guilt to come...

"Driven Mad" by Rena Balmain-Matthews
...At this point, like the title says, the girl is driven mad by her guilty conscience. Much like the short story "A Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allan Poe, where the man is driven so crazy by his conscience that he admits to murdering the old man. The blurriness of the photo is like the chaos of a guilty person's mind. Her face is obscured but she is holding her head like she is trying to keep it on her shoulders...
